US Technology Export Case Suspect to Appeal Remand

Main suspect Alexander Fishenko, a dual citizen of the United States and Russia, pleaded guilty to illegally exporting technology in September 2015.

The three suspects convicted on Monday worked for Fishenko’s company in Houston called the Arc Electronics. Posobilov was the company’s procurement director, Abduallev was a shipping manager, while Diatlova served as a salesperson, the release explained.

“By purposefully circumventing US law, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and the Arms Export Control Act, the defendants jeopardized our national security,” US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York John Carlin stated.

Fishenko faces up to ten years in prison for acting as a Russian agent and up to 20 years for each additional charge. Posobilov, Abdullaev and Diatlova can be sentenced to up to five years in prison for the conspiracy, and up to 20 years for each additional violation of US law.

Arc Electronics, founded in 1998, shipped about $50 million worth of technologies to Russia, according to the Justice Department.
