Minutemen Project Founder Jim Gilchrist claims that the allegations of coercion and harassment of illegal immigrant families by DHS at US detention centers are false.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The allegations of coercion and harassment of illegal immigrant families by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at US detention centers are false, US advocacy group the Minutemen Project Founder Jim Gilchrist told Sputnik on Tuesday.

“Without any provable misconduct by the DHS, the demand by the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLIN) for an investigation of that agency appears to be just ‘witch-hunting’ by a pro-illegal alien invasion group,” Gilchrist said.

On Monday, the CLIN advocacy group called on the DHS to halt the alleged bullying of illegal immigrant mothers and their children at the detention centers.

US Faces Threat of 'Illegal Alien Mob Rule' From Uncontrolled Immigrants
On September 30, the CARA [Family Detention Pro Bono] Project submitted to the DHS Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties documents alleging intimidation and violations of the right to a lawyer at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley.

“Guaranteeing the rights to a lawyer [for] illegal aliens, only guarantees that those aliens will remain forever in the United States in blatant defiance of US immigration laws,” Gilchrist said.

Gilchrist argued that illegal immigrants to the United States from across the US-Mexico border should immediately be sent back to their homelands.

“Perhaps, the Catholic Church, the CARA Project and the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties should begin representing the interests of American society rather than continuing… their… pandering of the uninvited and unwanted illegal alien population,” Gilchrist said.

On September 19, Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee (ALIPAC) President William Gheen told Sputnik that illegal immigrants should not enjoy civil rights protections because they were not US citizens and had broken federal immigration laws.
