Surprised? Ashley Madison Hack Proves DC Is Cheaters Capital of America

The scandalous Ashley Madison hack has caught millions of Americans flat-footed; embarrassingly, some of those caught in the hack work at the US Department of Justice and the National Security Agency, US writer Jennifer Weiner notes, posing a question whether Americans are a nation of "losers"?

Bureaucrats Behaving Badly: Government Emails in Ashley Madison Data Dump
The notorious Ashley Madison hack has exposed personal data of more than 33 million people, mostly from the United States and Western Europe, who sought secret extramarital affairs.

What makes matters even worse, many of these "would-be philanderers" used their real names and work emails, and that is not all — as it turns out that many of them work in US government structures.

"America. We used to bestride the world like a colossus, a leader among nations, smarter, faster, braver, more forward-thinking than our rivals… But now? We're a nation of losers, mouth-breathing, couch-potato, hands-down-our-pants dolts. We're an embarrassment, and in the wake of Tuesday's revelation, we should all be sent to our rooms with no electronics," American writer and television producer Jennifer Weiner emphasized.

The Ashley Madison website appears to have up to 15,000 profiles of individuals from the US government and the Pentagon. Needless to say, many millions of people have been seriously affected by the leak.

"Right now, I don't care about cheaters in general. I care about the ones whose lifestyles I'm funding. According to The Washington Post, the capital has the highest rate of membership for the site of any American city. A number of those caught up in the hack work at the Department of Justice and — #irony — the National Security Agency," Weiner remarked.

"Maybe it shouldn't come as a surprise that D.C. is full of cheaters, but why, oh why, did it have to be full of stupid cheaters, cheaters too lazy and incurious to go to Gmail.com before they cheated?" she added.

However, what prompts growing concerns is that the government and military officials who are "stupid" enough to use their real names and email addresses for Ashley Madison and wasting American taxpayer money on their controversial life style, are at the same time holding the "fate of the world" in their hands.
