MOSCOW (Sputnik) – An unknown gunman shot at least 13 people, two of whom remain in serious condition, at a house party in the northeast US borough of Brooklyn in New York City, local media reported Sunday.
The New York Daily News cited a fire department spokesman as saying two of the hospitalized victims in the shootout were listed in serious condition.
Police said gunfire erupted at a two-story complex in the East New York neighborhood at around 2:20 a.m. local time (06:20 GMT).
The rampage did not result in any deaths, while the assailant fled the scene and remains at large.
Mass shootings occur on a regular basis in the United States.
President Barack Obama recently named the lack of "common sense" gun safety laws as one area where his administration and national policymakers have failed to make headway.
