Boat Crash Near US Baltimore Leaves Two Dead, Six Injured

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Coast Guard said a 37-foot Sea Ray Sundancer boat collided with a pillar of the Francis Scott Key Bridge near the Baltimore suburb of Dundalk.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police said the crash occurred at 3:30 a.m. local time (07:30 GMT) on Sunday, according to NBC.

Police said the two victims of the crash — 41-year-old Windy Lawson, and Kimberly Ervin, 45 — who were thrown from the boat into the Patapsco River during the collision and subsequently died, were not wearing life jackets.

Two other passengers who were propelled into the river were transported to a hospital for treatment, along with two more who managed to remain in the vessel despite the impact; while a further two crash victims were treated for injuries at the scene, the TV channel reported.
