A sex worker from Charleston, W.Va., may have fatally shot a serial killer after she was attacked in her home last week.

Neal Falls, 45, arrived at the woman’s home after answering an ad she placed on Backpage.com. According to Fox affiliate KPTV, Falls showed up with several handcuffs and a “Kill List.”

Outside was a Subaru loaded with weapons and tools including a shovel, knives, a bulletproof vest, a machete, bleach, trash bags, sledgehammers, and axes

The woman, who asked not to be identified, said Falls got violent as soon as he got to her home. She said he pulled out a gun on her, then reached for her throat and began to strangle her.

“When he strangled me he just wouldn’t let me get any air,” she said. “I grabbed my rake and when he laid the gun down to get the rake out of my hands, I shot him. I just grabbed the gun and shot behind me.”

Police are now investigating whether Falls, who was from Springfield, Ore., had been involved in a string of murders involving sex workers in Ohio and Nevada.

Police also said Falls had been carrying a list of potential victims, all of which were sex workers who placed ads on Backpage.com.

“We have been able to locate most of them and they were all on websites advertising for escort services,” Lt. Steve Cooper of the Charleston Police Department told the Huffington Post on Wednesday. “The stuff that we found is so alarming that we want law enforcement across the country to be aware of it.”
