WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Four people have been killed and one was wounded in what is believed to be a domestic-related shooting in a suburban Atlanta home on Wednesday morning, Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper said on his Facebook page.
“Deputies are on scene at a shooting in a residence on Old Atlanta Road. At this time, we believe this to be domestic related. We have 5 people shot, 4 are deceased,” Piper said on Wednesday.
The sheriff added that the incident is “possibly a murder-suicide.”
The fifth victim is at hospital, but his condition remains unknown.
Sheriff Piper confirmed that the community is not in danger, as the suspected shooter is among the dead.
“There is no threat to the public and no suspects believed to be on the loose,” Piper said.
More than 33,000 people died of injuries stemming from gun violence in the United States in 2013, according to GunPolicy.org, an online source for published evidence on armed violence, firearm law and gun control.
