NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Several people were injured after a building in the New York City borough of Brooklyn collapsed, a New York City Police (NYPD) spokesperson told Sputnik on Tuesday.
“A four-story building collapsed,” the NYPD said. “Three passersby were injured.”
The collapse took place in at 1438 Fulton St. according to the New York City Office of Emergency Management.
The individuals who were injured sustained only minor injuries, the NYPD added.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has closed a nearby subway station as a result of the collapse, according to the MTA’s website.
The investigation as to the cause of the collapse is ongoing, the NYPD added.
