Disney has decided to remove a Bill Cosby bronze bust from the Hollywood Studios theme park near Orlando, Florida, where tributes to other television celebrities - including Oprah Winfrey and Lucille Ball - are also located.

The move followed new revelations in the sex abuse scandal swirling around the actor and television icon.

Dozens of  women over a period of 40 years have accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them. The list of Cosby's alleged victims includes Tamara Green, Therese Serignese and Linda Traitz, who are currently suing the comedian. Traitz was the one who started a petition seven months ago to have the bust removed from Disney.

"He has no place in Disney," said Brittany Traitz Gavrilova, Traitz's niece. "It's not a place for a predator. To see the bust of Bill Cosby as a hero on a pedestal in Disney after the family history, and we know of what had happened to my aunt all those years ago, it's hurtful."

Court Documents, released by Pennsylvania judge due to the efforts of the AP, unveiled explosive new details of a 2005 sex-assault case, in which Cosby testified under oath that he had obtained Quaaludes and another sedative with intention of
giving them to a woman to have sex with her.

Even though Cosby has not been criminally charged yet and his lawyer called the claims "unsubstantiated", "ridiculous" and "an absurd fabrication", a number of brands have severed ties with the star after the information became public, among them Bounce TV and NMC. Washington DC's Ben's Chili Bowl restaurant has also got rid of Cosby image they previously featured, according to the Washington Post.

The bronze statue, that had been present at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza at Hollywood Studios since 1994, was taken away Tuesday night after park gates closed, a park spokesman told NBC News.
