MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A highway accident involving several vehicles has led to six deaths and multiple injuries in the southeast US state of Tennessee, local police said.
"What we know now is that as many as nine vehicles were involved and as many as 15 people were injured. At least six people have succumbed to those injuries," a Chattanooga Police Department spokesman told local media.
The police spokesman said an interagency team is working on investigating the cause of the accident.
The Interstate 75 highway near the suburb of the southeast Tennessee town of Ooltewah close to the border with the state of Georgia has been shut down.
