Following the racially-charged mass killings that left nine people dead at the Emanuel AME church in South Carolina last week, one man is calling for resistance.

Taurean Brown, a black man, has organized #WeWillShoot back in a call to arm citizens against potential threats like Dylann Roof.

The hashtag has received more than 25,000 hits as of Sunday.

“We have a right to organize ourselves, and defend our humanity," Brown said. “We’re taking the power into our own hands, and not allowing another entity go do that for us.”

He also supported placing armed guards at places like the Emanuel AME church, which has historically been no stranger to attacks.
