    The police officers of the US state of Texas confirmed on Saturday that the gunman suspected of opening fire at the police department in the state’s major city Dallas had been killed.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, shooting took place near police headquarters in Dallas. Following the attack, police began pursuing an armored van driven by the fleeing suspect. The gunman stopped the vehicle and announced there were explosives in his car. He also said that he was going to blow them up.

    After hours long standoff with the local police, the suspected attacker was shot dead by a sniper.

    No injured among policemen or civilians have been reported.
