WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Tarrant County grand jury does not plan to indict Grapevine, Texas Police Officer Robert Clark for the deadly shooting of Mexican national Ruben Villalpando, according to local media reports on Monday.
“Grapevine police and prosecutors on Monday announced Officer Robert Clark would not face charges in the Feb 20, 2015, death of Ruben Garcia Villalpando,” Texas Public Radio said.
An investigation by the police department that the case received a “no billed” status for Clark’s actions were within Texas law on the use of deadly force, according to media.
The dash camera video, local media added, displays the altercation between Villalpando and Clark as he attempted to stop the Mexican national from fleeing before shooting him twice.
Salame said Villalpando was legally intoxicated, and the offence would have been his second of driving under the influence of alcohol.
