On Saturday, NYPD officer Brian Moore was shot in the head while on duty in Queens.

The 25-year-old policeman was patrolling in an unmarked vehicle with his colleague when they spotted Blackwell carrying a suspicious object.

After the officers pulled up and exchanged a few words with the suspect, he unexpectedly turned around and fired several times at the car, striking Moore in the head, New York police commissioner William Bratton told reporters following the incident.

Moore was rushed to a hospital where he underwent surgery, and is reported to be in critical but stable condition.
