The South Carolina state police released the dashcam footage from former officer Michael Slager’s patrol car that captured the minutes preceding him shooting unarmed black man Walter Scott.

The video shows 33-year old Slager pulling over 50-year-old Scott for having a busted tail light. After requesting the man’s license and registration, the two discuss whether or not Scott has insurance. Slager then returns to his car and tells Scott, who attempts to emerge from the driver’s side, to go back into his. A few moments later, Scott opens his door again and runs away. Slager then gives chase, but that is beyond the dash cam view.

The video was made public Thursday by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and does not contain any footage of the actual shooting.

Slager was charged with murder on Tuesday and fired from the force on Wednesday.
