Eight people have died and ten more were injured after a van careered across a Florida highway in Glades County, 80 miles [130 kilometers] west of West Palm Beach.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 12:31 AM on Monday morning, the van drove through a stop sign at an intersection on Highway 27 before traveling across the highway and landing in a canal.
The ten injured passengers, at least three of whom were in serious condition, have been taken to local hospitals for treatment.
