Florida's ex-governor Jeb Bush reportedly has been found to have used his private e-mail to discuss national security issues.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Florida's ex-governor Jeb Bush has been found to have used his private e-mail account to discuss sensitive issues of national security, a review by the Washington Post said Sunday.

The paper analysed thousands of e-mails that were turned over to state archives by the younger brother of George W. Bush. The research says some of them had to do with diplomacy and national security, such as troops movement and protection of the state nuclear facilities.

In one e-mail, Bush informed a lawmaker that the state was "reducing or getting rid of guard protection" at several nuclear power plants. He also mentioned details of troops deployments to the Middle East.

Jeb Bush, who is considering a run for president in the 2016 election, rebuffed remarks about potential security risks saying all information discussed was also available in the public domain.

Only half of about 550,000 e-mails related to Bush's time in office were handed over to state archives under the Florida records law after Jeb Bush stepped down in 2007.
