Jason Steward of Kermit, Texas, told local news that he took his son to see “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” last weekend.
Like any 9-year-old would be expected to do, the younger Steward was play-acting the film when he said that a ring he was wearing could be used to make the other boy disappear.
School officials didn't think it was so "precious," however. The principal, apparently told Steward that threats against classmates were not tolerated, even those concerning magic.
Steward told OA Online he asked the school for a written notice of suspension, saying he didn’t understand why his son had to be suspended. He noted his son has been suspended before, one time for taking a children’s book to school.
