MOSCOW, January 15 (Sputnik) — A school bus overturned in Gaston County, North Carolina and left 15 middle school students injured, WBTV reported.
The bus driver was distracted by a door of a compartment above the driver that opened. "When she [the driver] tried to clear her line of sight the bus went off the right side of the road and she over-corrected, causing the bus to overturn," the TV channel said Wednesday.
The speed of the bus was not a factor that led to the road accident.
According to the officials quoted by WBTV, there were 45 students on board of the bus. Of them, 15 were hospitalized with minor injuries, other ones were picked up at the crash scene by their family members.
