MOSCOW, January 11 (Sputnik) — A gunman killed three people and critically wounded another one on Saturday night during a shooting spree in the US city of Moscow in Idaho, local police said in a news release.
Police identified the suspect as John Lee, a 29-year-old local resident. According to the Moscow city police press release, the shooter was captured after a speedy car chase near the city of Pullman, in the Washington state.
Lee is suspected of having gunned down his adoptive mother, 61-year-old Terri Grzebielski, before going to the offices of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance, where he shot and killed local businessman David Trail, and critically injured Michael Chin.
A third shooting took place at a restaurant in Moscow, where Lee asked for the manager and opened fire at the woman, Belinda Niebuhr, as soon as she turned up. The killer fled the city in a black Honda, but was seized by Washington police after his car crashed in the Whitman County, Washington.
The attacker has been taken into custody and booked into the Whitman County jail. Police are now looking into the incident.
