MADRID, January 7 (Sputnik) — Spanish media group Promotora de Informaciones (PRISA) has evacuated its headquarters in Madrid after receiving a suspicious package, the Telegraph reported Wednesday.
There is no evidence that the incident is linked with the shooting at the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris, in which 12 people were killed.
At the same time, Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which published controversial cartoons about the Islamic prophet Muhammad in 2005, has boosted its security following the attack in France.
Earlier on Wednesday, three armed men rushed into the offices of the Charlie Hebdo magazine and shot and killed at least 12 people, including well-known journalists and two police officers.
French authorities continue to search for the suspects, who managed to escape the building. The killers are reportedly linked to al-Qaeda. According to the local police, their actions could have been triggered by several controversial publications by the magazine lampooning Islam and the prophet Muhammad.
