ST. LOUIS, November 26 (Sputnik) – At least two people were detained Tuesday during protests in Ferguson over the grand jury's decision not to indict a white police officer who fatally shot an unarmed African-American teenager, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Several hundred protesters blocked a federal highway with police responding with tear gas. According to the RIA Novosti correspondent, at least two people refused to give in to police demands to leave and were then handcuffed and escorted to a police car.
The demonstrators later left the highway, freeing up traffic and marched across central Ferguson towards the courthouse.
Major protests erupted in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson Monday over the grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson, a white police officer, who fatally shot Michael Brown, an unarmed African-American teenager, in Ferguson, on August 9.
In the St. Louis County at least 13 people have been injured in riots, which later spread across the United States and engulfed 38 states, according to the latest updates.
