07:07 GMT 27.06.2020 (Updated: 15:07 GMT 28.05.2023) During the incident on Friday, a man stabbed two people to death and injured six before being shot by Scottish police. The authorities are investigating the attack, stressing it is not being treated as a terrorist act - unlike last week's assault in Reading, committed by a 25-year-old refugee from Libya, known to the security services.
Police are still present in downtown Glasgow on Saturday after a gruesome knife attack at a hotel housing asylum seekers. Six people were admitted to hospitals as a result, including a 42-year-old police officer.
