Russian Premier League strugglers Amkar Perm appointed Miodrag Bozovic on Thursday for a second stint as coach at the club, a day after Rashid Rakhimov left over a string of poor results.

Bozovic, who coached Amkar to fourth in the league in 2008, qualifying for the UEFA Cup for the first time in their history, has already begun training the team, Amkar said on their website.

There was no word on the length of his contract.

The man he replaces, Rakhimov, left by mutual consent on Wednesday in a move aimed at halting the club's downward spiral.

Rakhimov joined Amkar for a second spell in 2009 after coaching the team in 2006-07, but after narrowly avoiding relegation last year the club have made little progress this year, in 13th position with five games remaining.

Amkar are winless in their last 10, losing six and scoring only three times, form that leaves them only three points ahead of 15th-placed Tom Tomsk in the relegation zone.

The Montenegrin's first game in charge is Saturday away to fellow relegation candidates Volga Nizhny Novgorod.
