The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is expected to launch its Whistleblower Program in January 2017 in order to enhance the organization's tackling of its informers' doping reports and to protect the informers, WADA's press service said Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the Foundation Board Meeting of the WADA kicked off in the Scottish city of Glasgow.

"WADA Whistleblower Program — to be launched in January 2017 — will encourage reporting, manage claims & protect whistleblowers," the press service said on its Twitter account.

WADA Concludes Five Countries Failing to Comply With World Anti-Doping Code
Speaking about the program, Director of Intelligence and Investigations for WADA Guenter Younger said about necessity to cooperate between the anti-doping organization and law enforcement agencies, the press service added.

According to the press service, the new program will offer whistleblowers financial incentives and assistance within the framework of the World Anti-Doping Code.
