MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The board meeting will be held on November 20 in Glasgow, Scotland.

"The Board will consider the consensus reached during WADA’s first Think Tank held on 20 September that was endorsed by WADA’s Executive Committee the following day to the effect that WADA must be strengthened and empowered with greater independence and sanctioning power," WADA said on Friday.

According to the Friday statement, the meeting will also be aimed at developing a roadmap aimed at strengthening anti-doping measures and defining the future of the anti-doping system.

WADA’s board also plans to discuss the agency’s new whistleblower program and the 2017 budget in Glasgow.

Ahead of the foundation board meeting, WADA’s Executive Committee will hold closed-door talks on November 19.

On September 21, the Executive Committee approved WADA’s 2017 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods.

Earlier this month, WADA and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) launched the so-called Project Energia aimed at ending the trafficking of drugs that could be used as doping.
