    Russian athlete Alexander Lesun came first in the men's individual modern pentathlon event at the ongoing Rio Olympic Games, claiming the 17th gold medal for the national team.

    RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) — Lesun led with an overall score of 1,479 points. Pavlo Tymoshchenko of Ukraine took silver after scoring 1,472 points, while Ismael Hernandez of Mexico won bronze with 1,468 points.
