    Russia’s women’s handball team on Saturday beat the French national team in the final game of 2016 Rio Olympics and won the first gold Olympic medal in its history.

    RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) — The game ended with a score of 22 to 19 (10:7). During the Olympic games, Russia's handball team’s has not lost any match.

    It is Russia's 14th gold medal in total medal count at Rio Olympics.
