MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, Klishina failed to gain an Olympic medal, taking the ninth place in a long jumping contest.
“I will continue to train in the United States with Loren Seagrave, everything will remain the same," Klishina told reporters after the competition.
According to the long jumper, it was hard to compete in the absence of other Russian track-and-field athletes, as the Russian team had been banned from participation over doping accusations.
"I want to believe that everything will be back on track as soon as possible, because it is very difficult for everyone. It was difficult for me to be here without them, and it is even more difficult for them at home," Klishina said.
On July 24, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) prohibited all Russian athletes from taking part in international competitions, including the Rio Olympics, except Klishina, who trains in the United States.
