Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Davit Chakvetadze won the men’s 85 kg gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics on Monday, bringing Russia its 10th gold medal.

RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) – Chakvetadze beat Ukraine’s Zhan Beleniuk, the defending 2015 world champion whom the Russian wrestler defeated later that year at the Golden Grand Prix in Azerbaijan.

With Chakvetadze's latest victory, Russia's medal tally is up to 33, elevating the country to fourth place overall behind China, the United Kingdom and the United States.
