RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) — Russian men's Greco-Roman wrestler Roman Vlasov, competing in the category up to 75 kg (165 lb), won gold at the Rio Olympics, thus the total number of Russian gold medals at the Games now stands at nine.

In the finals, Vlasov defeated Danish wrestler Mark Overgaard Madsen with the score of 5:1. Vlasov thus became a double Olympic champion.

The bronze medals were won by South Korean wrestler Kim Hyeon-woo and Iranian Saeid Abdevali.

The 2016 Summer Olympic Games are being held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21.
