Russia’s Female Fencing Team Wins Bronze at Rio Olympics, Beating Estonia

The Russian women’s fencing team brought Russia a bronze medal.

RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) — The Russian women’s fencing team beat Estonia at the Rio Olympics bringing Russia a bronze medal.

Russia’s Logunova, Shutova, Kolobova and Kochneva beat Estonia’s team 37:31 on Thursday in women’s team epee.

Russia now has four golds, seven silvers and six bronzes. Two of the golds, one silver and two bronzes are in fencing. The two fencing golds were brought by saber fencer Yana Egorian and foil fencer Inna Deriglazova.

The Summer Olympic Games are being held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21. Brazil is the first South American country to host the competition.
