Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjostrom beat Sunday the world record in women's 100m butterfly at Rio Olympics and won the gold medal in the final heat.

RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) —  Sjostrom completed the distance in 55.48 seconds, breaking her own record of 55.64 that she had set at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Russia.
