IAAF Says ‘No IOC Decision to Be Taken’ on Russian Track Athletes in Rio

The only Russian athlete who fulfills the criteria and is eligible to take part in the Rio Olympics is Darya Klishina, according to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) – There is “no decision to be taken” on the part of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding Russian track-and-field athletes’ admission to the Rio games, with US-based long jumper Darya Klishina the only athlete cleared to compete, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) told –Sport on Thursday.

“In the case of Athletics there was no IOC decision to be taken… The only Russian athlete who fulfills the criteria and is eligible is Darya Klishina” the IAAF spokesperson said.
