All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF) President Dmitry Shlyakhtin said Wednesday he plans to step down in November to focus on developing regional sport.

SAMARA (Sputnik) – Shlyakhtin was elected to lead the federation in mid-January, following his predecessor's departure early last year amid an unfolding doping scandal.

“Until November <…> I finished what depended on me, and now I am going to focus on the [Samara] region,” Shlyakhtin told reporters when asked how long he planned to stay on the post.
