Three Russian taekwondo athletes will perform on the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil, the president of the Russian Taekwondo Union said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) officially confirmed the eligibility of all three Russian athletes for the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil, the president of the Russian Taekwondo Union said Friday.

"This morning we received a letter from the World Taekwondo Federation. We were notified that all three of our athletes were officially eligible for the participation in the Olympic Games," Anatoly Terekhov told R-Sport.

On Wednesday, Terekhov said he had received an oral confirmation from the WTF.
