Russian Olympic Committee Out of Time to File Collective Rio Appeal
The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) will not file collective appeals regarding the strict International Olympic Committee (IOC) criteria Russian athletes face to gain the right to compete in the Rio Summer Games, head of the ROC’s legal department Alexandra Brilliantova said Monday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The IOC announced on Sunday it would not ban the entire Russian national team from the upcoming Games, but said athletes with a record of doping violations would not be allowed to compete. The committee left it to the respective international federations to decide whether individual Russian athletes should be permitted to participate in the Games.
"Time for any claims has passed, at least with regard to the ROC. The ROC will not file any collective action," Brilliantova told R-Sport.
