Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow is maintaining permanent contacts, working contacts with the IOC and the Russian Sports Ministry.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Moscow is maintaining permanent contacts with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the Russian athletes participation in the 2016 Olympic Games, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

"We are maintaining permanent contacts, working contacts with the IOC and the [Russian] Sports Ministry. Internal [contacts] are being maintained permanently," Peskov said.

He also said that the Kremlin had no plans to hold a special meeting on recent developments in international sport.

Earlier in the day, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the Russian appeal and upheld the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) ban from the 2016 Rio Olympics for Russian athletes.
