Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia condemns the idea of boycotts of international competitions and the Russian national team will take part in the summer games in Rio.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia has never advocated and has instead condemned the boycotting of international competitions including the upcoming Rio Olympics, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

“Russia has always condemned the idea of boycotts and has never been a supporter of such ideas,” Peskov told reporters when asked to comment on the possibility that the Russian national team could refuse to take part in the summer games in Rio.
