TURIN (Sputnik) — The parliament speaker added that responsibility of all parties involved in doping violations should be enshrined in special regulations.
"I advocate tougher punishments for all participants and actual culprits of anti-doping regime violations, including athletes, trainers, experts, doctors, and state executives," Sergei Naryshkin told reporters in Turin.
In November 2015, an independent committee from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accused Russia of violating anti-doping rules. The WADA suspended Russia-based anti-doping lab operations run by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
The following month, the Russian Sports Ministry said all RUSADA top executives resigned in light of accusations of covering up doping by Russia's leading athletes.
