MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The US Justice Department charged nine FIFA officials and five corporate executives, arrested in Switzerland in May, with allegedly receiving some $150 million in bribes.

"Consisting of bank documents, the evidence will be used in criminal proceedings against high-ranking FIFA officials," the FOJ said. "It relates to bank accounts allegedly used for bribes connected with the grant of marketing rights to soccer tournaments in Latin America and the US."

Acting on another US request, the FOJ froze 13 bank accounts valued at some $80 million in assets.
