The head of the world football governing body FIFA, Joseph Blatter, vowed to fight the eight-year suspension leveled at him by FIFA’s Ethics Committee Adjudicatory Chamber.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The chamber banned Blatter, alongside vice president and European football chief Michel Platini, for eight years earlier on Monday.

"I will fight. I will fight for me, and I will fight for FIFA," Blatter said at a press conference.

"We'll go immediately once again to the appeal committee, we go to the CAS — Court of Arbitration for Sport, we'll go also to Swiss [court]," he added.

Blatter pointed to the absence of the word "corruption" in the FIFA judiciary body’s decision relating to a 2011 $2 million disbursement for 1999-2002 activities. Platini contends the money was paid to him based on an oral agreement for work in support of a global development project and business trips taken with Blatter.
