MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The 2018 FIFA World Cup, awarded to Russia in 2010, will be held from June 14 to July 15 in 11 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi.
"The LOC Board established the date of the Final Draw of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The 32 countries that make it through to the final stage will gather in Moscow on 1 December, 2017, to begin plotting their route through the tournament to lift the coveted trophy on 15 July, 2018," the press release reads.
In mid-September, the Russian organizing committee launched a 1,000-day countdown to the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
