MOSCOW, January 31 (Sputnik) — Russian snowboarder, Vic Wild, took his first win in the parallel giant slalom during the FIS Alpine Snowboard World Cup in Rogla, Slovenia.

After Wild fought off competition from Christoph Mick and Valery Kolegov, he was involved in a fierce race with Kaspar Fluetsch. Eventually, the Swiss was outflanked by Wild who beat his competitor by just 0.07 seconds.

Although Zan Kosir had been the fastest in qualifying, he only managed to take third place after beating Kaspar Fluetsch in the Small Final by 0.52secs. However, the Slovenian still remains on in the lead, even though Wild slashed his advantage, the Sportal media outlet points out.

On the overall leaderboard, the Russian is currently in third place with 1970 points, Italy's Roland Fischnaller is in second, and Kosir is currently leading with his advantage increased to 710 points due to Fischnaller's failure to improve on his qualifying results.
