MOSCOW July 7 (R-Sport) - Moscow football team CSKA’s new midfield duo, Steven Zuber and Georgi Milanov, said Sunday that they were keen to make an impact after joining the Russian champions Friday.

Zuber and Milanov are both aged 21 and both midfielders. Zuber joined from Grasshoppers Zurich, while Bulgaria international Milanov came in from Litex Lovech.

“I feel great. I’ll apply all my strength to help the team achieve success in the Russian league and in the Champions League,” Milanov was quoted as saying by the CSKA website.

“I was very happy to sign for this big club,” Zuber said after his first training session. “The level is very high here, I can see it on the pitch. More speed than in Switzerland, but I like it.”

Both could debut when CSKA takes on Zenit St. Petersburg in the season-opening Super Cup on Saturday.

Breaking into the first team became slightly easier Sunday with the news that CSKA’s Latvian midfielder Aleksandrs Cauna had broken a metatarsal bone in his right foot.
