MOSCOW, November 14 (R-Sport) – CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia, who has been sidelined with a back injury for three months, will return to light training soon, the team doctor told R-Sport on Wednesday.

The Ivorian forward, last season's top scorer, was diagnosed with a herniated disc in August but underwent a medical examination on Tuesday that yielded some positive results.

“Everything’s good with him,” Alexander Yardoshvili said. “He will start light training soon.”

Yardoshvili was unable to say whether Doumbia will take part in the remaining five games in the Russian Premier League this year.

Doumbia, 24, joined CSKA in 2010 from Young Boys Bern, where he was twice ranked top scorer in the Swiss league, and got the same accolade in the Russian Premier League season with 28 goals.

He is under contract at the Russian club for three more years.

He has scored two goals in 19 appearances for the Ivory Coast, and featured largely as a substitute in the team’s run to the final of the 2012 African Cup of Nations.

CSKA are top of the Russian Premier League, three points ahead of second-placed Zenit St. Petersburg. Doumbia's only goal so far this season came in the season-opening 1-0 win over FC Rostov.
