    Football History Federation puts CSKA Moscow on 5th place in Club World Ranking

    MOSCOW, June 1 (RIA Novosti) - The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) put CSKA Moscow, the winner of the European and national cups, on the 5th place in its Present Club World Ranking.

    CSKA successes improved its ranking from the 25th to 5th place. CSKA has 251.5 points. The present ranking covers the period from June 1, 2004 till May 30, 2005.

    Two Italian clubs, Inter (276 points) and Milan (270 points) are at the top of the Club World Ranking. They are followed by the former leader, England's Manchester United (259) and Bayern Munich (255).

    CSKA Moscow is ahead of such clubs as England's Arsenal (9th place), England's Chelsea (13th-14th) and Liverpool (17th), Italy's Juventus (10th), France's Monaco (13th-14th) and Lion (15th) and Spain's Real Madrid (21st) and Barcelona (34th).

    In addition to CSKA, the only Russian clubs presented in the Club World Ranking are Zenit St. Petersburg (142 points, 59th place) and Lokomotiv Moscow (63 points, 336th place).

    This ranking is relative. For instance, Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League in a fantastic match with Milan, while the leader Inter saw an infamous defeat in the match with Milan in the Champions League quarterfinals.
