The World Naked Bike Ride was first organised in 2003. In 2004 the event was held in 28 cities across ten countries. The ride aims to promote "a vision of a cleaner, safer, more body-positive world".

A man with a paintball gun attacked cyclists during the World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Footage made by a volunteer in the Tower Grove Park shows a man approaching a crowd and shooting the riders about a dozen times.

    The video then abruptly halts.

According to the organisers, no one was harmed by the shooter.
