    Crimea's Simferopol, Italy's Padua Become Sister Cities

    Simferopol and Padua are now sister cities and will develop ties in such field as science, healthcare and ecology.

    SIMFEROPOL (Sputnik) – Crimea’s Simferopol and the Italian city of Padua agreed to promote economic, cultural ties by signing an agreement on Friday on establishing sister city relations between two cities.

    "The sides will promote bilateral cooperation in science, technology, telecommunications, healthcare, ecology, in the cultural field and in sports," the agreement reads.

    The sides also "agreed to boost economic development and bilateral business contacts" and facilitate the exchange of delegations in all spheres.

    The document was signed by Marina Buffoni, a member of the Governing Council of the City of Padua, and Simferopol mayor Viktor Ageyev.
