Polish Parliament Votes Against Total Ban on Abortion

The Polish parliament on Thursday voted against plans of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party to introduce a total ban on abortion in the country.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the TVN24 broadcaster, 352 lawmakers voted against tightening the current legislation regulating the abortions, while 58 voted to support such change of the country's laws.

In late September, the parliament voted to consider the proposal to impose a ban abortion sparkling large-scale protests in Poland and abroad.
